Jan 20th, 2009 by Kristy
*edit 12-08-09* This pattern is the first pattern I wrote, and it shows.. lol. I’m working on a new version, but until it is finished, I’ve posted more images that I hope will help with some confusion about the cluster stitch.

Here is the pattern for the crocheted diamond ridges hat, inspired by the awesome knitted koolhaas. LINK TO PDF

Please let me know of you have any problems or questions!

That is an awesome hat! I had to check when I saw it on ravelry to see if was knitted or crocheted. I’m definitely going to try this out.
I love it too! I came straight from Ravelry.

I love this hat! The look is amazing!… will definately try ASAP!
This is a beautiful crochet rendition of the Koolhas. I love that hat, but don’t knit so I am SO glad that you shared your pattern. Came right over from Ravlery after saying “Now that is one pattern I will pay for!” Thanks for sharing your talent at no charge!
Hurrah. I can crochet and I love the Koolhaas hat but just struggled with it because my knitting skills arent nearly so good as my crochet skills and my attempt looked nothing like Koolhas, lol.
I am sending kisses and hugs across the internet right now!
You have made my day. (Thanks to Ravelry for introducing you to me. Isn’t Ravelry wonderful?)
Beautiful job! And thanks so much for sharing the pattern.
I love this hat but can’t get the pdf to open. It’s beautiful. Purple is my favorite.
I was just trying to figure out how to do a pattern very similar to this last week! Now I don’t have to. You did it for me! Thank you very much for doing so!
WOW!! Rrrruffles have rrrridges! haha. I’m excited about making this one!
I saw this pattern on Ravelry and cannot wait to make it!!
Gorgeous hat!
Love the hat! It says for personal use only on the PDF – do you mind if I make some for charity and give them to the local cancer hospital? Thanks for the pattern!
I don’t mind at all. I need to update the pattern, all I ask is that no one uses the pattern to make hats to sell online.
I love this pattern! I am so excited to make it!

I’ve been reading your blog and patterns and I wanted to say that your work is beautiful. Not that you didn’t already know that. Thanks for sharing your patterns. My friends are going to love their gifts this year.
Do you have the updated pattern. I am having problems with the 4th row. I cant seem to get 50 stitches. If you can help I would really appreciate it.
hi
this is a great hat and would love to make it, but cant seem to grasp it, i have tried a few times but i’m quite new to crochet, well a year. do you have any more images of the fpdc and bphdc because i think i’m doing it wrong.
cheers
I LOVE this hat!
It’s so pretty! I’m just confused on one thing — every time I make round 5, I end up with more than 50 stitches.. Can you explain which stitches you’re supposed to stitch into when doing the two dc’s? Thanks!!
so cool!!!! Starting to crochet and saw it on ravelry i want to try it!
